  • 9:9 Portal 2026: Release the Past and Manifest Your Powerful New Beginning

September 9, 2026, brings the 9:9 Portal, a date that many people working with numerology, manifestation, and spiritual practices use as a symbolic threshold for completion, release, transformation, and renewal.

But the 9:9 Portal of 2026 has an especially interesting numerical pattern.

While the double 9 emphasizes the symbolism of completing cycles, 2026 is a Universal Year 1—associated in numerology with beginnings, independence, initiative, and creation.

Even the complete date, 9/9/2026, reduces to 1.

So the message of this year’s 9:9 Portal can be beautifully summarized as:

    Nine says: Finish.
    One says: Begin.
    Nine says: Release.
    One says: Create.

This isn’t simply a day to ask the universe for more. It can be a powerful opportunity to decide what you’re no longer willing to carry—and what you’re finally ready to begin.

    What Is the 9:9 Portal?

The term 9:9 Portal is used in modern spiritual and numerological communities to describe the symbolic significance of September 9.

It is important to distinguish this spiritual interpretation from astronomy: there is no scientifically established astronomical “portal” that physically opens on September 9.

Instead, its meaning comes primarily from numerology and contemporary spiritual practice.

September is the ninth month of the year, and September 9 gives us the repeated number:

    9:9

In numerology, 9 is commonly associated with:

    • Completion
    • Wisdom
    • Compassion
    • Forgiveness
    • Spiritual growth
    • Humanitarianism
    • Release
    • Closing cycles
    • Transformation

Nine is also the final single-digit number before the numerical sequence returns to 1.

Symbolically, that makes 9 a beautiful number for standing at the threshold between what has been and what comes next.

Why the 9:9 Portal of 2026 Is Different

Here is where 2026 becomes especially interesting.

Add the numbers of the year:

    2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 10

    Then:

    1 + 0 = 1

Therefore, 2026 is a Universal Year 1 in numerology.

    Now calculate the entire date:

    9 + 9 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 28

    2 + 8 = 10

    1 + 0 = 1

So September 9, 2026, is also a Universal Day 1.

We therefore have a fascinating symbolic relationship between 9 and 1.

    Nine completes.

    One initiates.

    Nine releases.

    One creates.

Nine asks you to acknowledge what has fulfilled its purpose.

    One asks:

What are you going to do next?

This makes the 2026 9:9 Portal particularly suited to working with the theme of:

    Completion → Release → Renewal → Beginning

The Spiritual Meaning of the 9:9 Portal

Sometimes we become so focused on manifestation that we continuously ask for more.

    More money.

    More opportunities.

    More love.

    More success.

    More abundance.

But manifestation can also involve recognizing what occupies the space where something new could grow.

Perhaps you are carrying an old belief about money.

Maybe you’re still emotionally attached to something that ended years ago.

Perhaps you’ve outgrown a goal you once desperately wanted.

Or maybe an older version of yourself simply doesn’t fit the person you’re becoming.

The 9:9 Portal offers a symbolic moment to ask:

“What am I carrying that my future self no longer needs?”

You don’t have to reject your past.

You can appreciate what it taught you while deciding that you no longer need to carry its weight.

What Can You Release During the 9:9 Portal?

Your release can be emotional, spiritual, mental, or practical.

Consider whether you’re ready to release:

    Fear of failure

    Scarcity thinking

    Self-doubt

    Procrastination

    Comparison

    Resentment

    Guilt

    Perfectionism

    The need for approval

    Unhealthy relationship patterns

    Old financial habits

    Fear of being seen

    An outdated identity

A goal that no longer belongs to you

You don’t need to release everything at once.

Sometimes identifying one repeating pattern can create more meaningful change than writing an enormous list.

The Lunar Energy Around September 9, 2026

The timing of this year’s portal adds another symbolic layer.

September 9 occurs during the Moon’s waning phase, immediately before the Virgo New Moon on September 10.

In many spiritual traditions and contemporary lunar practices, the waning Moon is associated symbolically with:

    Release. Clearing. Reflection. Surrender. Completion.

The New Moon, by contrast, is commonly used for:

Beginnings. Intentions. Renewal. Planning. Planting symbolic seeds.

So once again, the symbolism moves from:

    Release → Renewal

The Moon also moves into Virgo on September 9.

Virgo symbolism can bring our attention toward the practical side of transformation—our routines, organization, habits, work, health, and everyday choices.

    And that is important.

Because manifestation isn’t only about deciding what you want.

    It’s also about asking:

“What am I willing to do differently to help create it?”

A Simple 9:9 Portal Ritual for Release and New Beginnings

You don’t need an elaborate altar or expensive spiritual supplies for this practice.

    Gather:

    • One white candle
    • A bowl of clean water
    • Paper
    • A pen

You may also include crystals, flowers, incense, or other meaningful spiritual items if they’re already part of your personal practice.

Place the bowl of water in front of you and safely light your candle.

    Take three slow breaths.

    Allow yourself to become quiet.

At the top of your paper, write:

    I RELEASE…

Underneath, write up to nine things you’re ready to leave behind.

    When you’re finished, say:

“I honor what these experiences have taught me. I release what has completed its purpose. I carry the wisdom forward, but I release the weight.”

    Take another breath.

Now turn your attention toward your future.

    Write:

    I BEGIN…

This time, choose one primary intention.

    Not nine.

    One.

    One direction.

    One commitment.

    One meaningful beginning.

    Perhaps yours is:

    I begin creating financial stability.

    I begin honoring myself.

    I begin building healthier relationships.

I begin creating my dream business.

    I begin trusting my intuition.

I begin living with greater peace.

Now place your hands near the bowl and say:

“As one cycle completes, another begins. I release the past with gratitude. I welcome opportunities, relationships, resources, abundance, wisdom, and experiences aligned with my highest good. I am ready for my next chapter.”

Sit quietly for a few moments and imagine yourself living differently, not simply receiving something.

When you’re finished, safely extinguish your candle.

    Dispose of the water respectfully.

You may tear up or discard your release list as a symbolic act of completion.

Keep your “I Begin” intention somewhere visible.

Then take practical action toward it.

9:9 Portal Guidance for the Four Zodiac Elements

Fire Signs — Aries, Leo and Sagittarius

    Your theme is direction.

Your natural fire can generate enormous momentum, but not every battle deserves your energy.

Release distractions, impulsive commitments, and goals that no longer excite the person you’re becoming.

    Affirmation:

“I confidently direct my energy toward the life I choose to create.”

Earth Signs — Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn

    Your theme is restructuring.

Examine your routines, finances, work habits, environment, and practical systems.

Ask yourself whether your current structure can actually support the future you’re trying to manifest.

    Affirmation:

“I create strong foundations for lasting abundance, stability, and success.”

Air Signs — Gemini, Libra and Aquarius

    Your theme is mental liberation.

Some beliefs feel true simply because we’ve repeated them for years.

Release mental clutter, indecision, comparison, and limiting stories.

    Affirmation:

“My mind is clear, focused, creative, and open to new possibilities.”

Water Signs — Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces

    Your theme is emotional release.

Honor what you feel without requiring yourself to carry every emotion, memory, attachment, or disappointment indefinitely.

    Affirmation:

“I release emotional weight and welcome peace, love, abundance, and renewal.”

    9 Powerful 9:9 Portal Affirmations

Repeat these aloud, write them in your journal, or choose the one that resonates most strongly with you:

    1. I release everything that has completed its purpose in my life.
    2. I welcome new beginnings with confidence, clarity, and trust.
    3. I am aligned with opportunities that support my highest good.
    4. I attract abundance while taking inspired and purposeful action.
    5. I forgive the past and free myself to create something greater.
    6. I trust my intuition and confidently move toward what supports my highest good.
    7. I am worthy of success, abundance, peace, love, and happiness.
    8. I confidently release the past and embrace the powerful new chapter unfolding for me.
    9. I welcome my new beginning with confidence, clarity, abundance, and trust.

    Your 9:9 Portal Declaration

Before September 9 ends, ask yourself two questions:

What am I finally ready to leave behind?

    And:

What am I ready to begin?

You don’t need to have your entire future figured out.

You only need to recognize the next direction.

The symbolism of this year’s 9:9 Portal reminds us that completion and creation are not opposites.

Sometimes an ending creates the very space a beginning needs.

So release what has completed its purpose.

    Keep the wisdom.

    Choose your intention.

    And take your next step.

    I release. I realign. I rise. I begin again.

    Happy 9:9 Portal 2026, Conquerors.

  • Oshun Feast Day September 8: Honoring the Orisha of Love, Beauty, Prosperity & Abundance

Every year on September 8, many devotees honor Oshun, one of the most beloved Orishas associated with fresh water, love, beauty, fertility, sensuality, joy, creativity, prosperity, and abundance.
Golden, radiant, and intimately connected with rivers, Oshun represents far more than physical beauty. Her symbolism speaks to self-worth, sweetness, attraction, diplomacy, creativity, pleasure, generosity, and the ability to receive the goodness life has to offer.
Her flowing waters also offer a powerful spiritual lesson: a river does not stop being a river when it encounters an obstacle. It finds another path.
For anyone exploring African and African diasporic spiritual traditions, September 8 offers an opportunity to learn more about Oshun, appreciate the traditions surrounding her, and reflect on the qualities she represents.

    Who Is Oshun?

Oshun is an Orisha originating within Yoruba religious tradition and honored in several African diasporic traditions.
She is strongly associated with fresh water, particularly rivers.
    Oshun is commonly connected with:

    • Love and attraction
    • Beauty and sensuality
    • Fresh water and rivers
    • Fertility and motherhood
    • Prosperity and abundance
    • Joy and pleasure
    • Creativity and the arts
    • Diplomacy and sweetness
    • Self-worth and confidence
Her imagery is frequently filled with brilliant yellow and gold, beautiful jewelry, mirrors, fans, flowers, flowing water, and honey.
But reducing Oshun simply to beauty or romance misses much of her depth.
Oshun also represents intelligence, determination, dignity, influence, and power.
Her sweetness should never be mistaken for weakness.

Why Is Oshun Honored on September 8?

The September 8 observance is particularly associated with Afro-Cuban and Lukumí traditions, where Oshun became syncretically associated with Our Lady of Charity of El Cobre — La Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre, the Patroness of Cuba.
The Catholic feast of Our Lady of Charity is celebrated on September 8.
The relationship between Catholic saints and Orishas developed within a complicated history of colonialism, slavery, cultural survival, adaptation, and resistance.
Enslaved Africans and their descendants preserved important elements of African spirituality despite tremendous pressure and restrictions on their religious practices.
Over generations, associations developed between certain Catholic figures and particular Orishas.
This is why September 8 became an important date for Oshun within some African diasporic communities.
It is important, however, to understand that Oshun and Our Lady of Charity are not simply interchangeable figures. They originate in distinct religious traditions, even though historical syncretism created an important relationship between them.

Oshun and the Spiritual Meaning of the River

One of the most beautiful ways to understand Oshun is through her connection with flowing freshwater.
    A healthy river moves.
    It nourishes.
    It changes direction.
    It gives life.
And when something blocks its path, water often finds another way forward.
This makes the river a powerful symbol for examining our own lives.
    Where have you become stagnant?
What are you desperately trying to force?
What are you afraid to release?
Where are you refusing to receive?
And what might happen if you allowed yourself to move differently?
Oshun’s association with flowing water can remind us that sometimes transformation doesn’t require pushing harder.
Sometimes we need to change direction and begin flowing again.

    Oshun, Self-Worth and Magnetism

Another powerful lesson associated with Oshun is recognizing your value.
True magnetism isn’t simply about physical appearance.
    It begins internally.
When you know your worth, you become more selective about what you accept.
You stop begging for situations that continually reject you.
You become more conscious of how you speak to yourself.
You begin choosing relationships that offer respect rather than simply attention.
You create boundaries around your time and energy.
And you become more comfortable receiving.
This creates a beautiful Feast Day reflection:
Where am I accepting less than what I know I deserve?
Write down whatever comes to mind.
    Then ask:
What would I choose differently if I truly recognized my value?
That answer may reveal something important.

Oshun and the Sweetness of Life

Honey is one of the substances famously associated with Oshun.
    Symbolically, honey represents sweetness.
But sweetness is more profound than simply experiencing pleasure.
Many people become so focused on responsibilities, survival, problems, and future goals that they forget to experience the life happening around them.
There must also be room for:
    Beauty.
    Music.
    Rest.
    Laughter.
    Friendship.
    Love.
    Creativity.
    Pleasure.
    Celebration.
    Gratitude.
The sweetness of life reminds us that abundance isn’t only measured by money.
A prosperous life can also contain meaningful relationships, peaceful mornings, good health, opportunities, creativity, security, freedom, beautiful surroundings, and moments of genuine joy.

    Oshun and Prosperity

Oshun is also widely associated with prosperity and abundance.
This makes her symbolism especially meaningful for people seeking to develop a healthier relationship with receiving.
Sometimes we unconsciously associate receiving with selfishness.
We may feel comfortable giving but uncomfortable accepting help, compliments, opportunities, money, affection, or recognition.
    Yet healthy exchange requires both.
    Giving.
    And receiving.
On September 8, consider asking yourself:
Am I genuinely open to receiving what I say I desire?
Then consider the opportunities already surrounding you.
Abundance does not always arrive in the form we expect.
Sometimes it arrives as an introduction.
    An idea.
    A new skill.
    A conversation.
    An unexpected opportunity.
A closed door that redirects you toward something better.
Or the courage to finally take action.

A Simple and Respectful Oshun Feast Day Reflection

If you are not initiated into a Yoruba or African diasporic religious tradition, you can keep your observance simple and respectful rather than attempting ceremonies that traditionally require specific religious knowledge or initiation.
Create a peaceful space for reflection.
You may choose beautiful yellow or gold flowers and place a bowl of clean fresh water nearby as a symbolic reminder of Oshun’s connection with rivers.
    Sit quietly.
    Take several slow breaths.
Look into the water and think about what you are ready to stop carrying.
    Ask yourself:
What needs to begin flowing again in my life?
Then consider love, finances, creativity, relationships, confidence, career, spirituality, and your relationship with yourself.
Choose one area where you are ready for movement.
    Write:
“I allow positive movement to begin here.”
Keep the paper somewhere meaningful as a reminder of your intention.

    A Mirror Practice for Self-Worth

Because mirrors are commonly associated with Oshun’s imagery, you can also use the day for a simple self-worth reflection.

Stand comfortably in front of a mirror.

Look directly into your own eyes.

Instead of examining your appearance, concentrate on the person looking back at you.

    Then slowly say:

    “I recognize my worth.”

“I honor the person I am becoming.”

“I receive love that respects and values me.”

“I allow prosperity to enter my life.”

“I am worthy of joy, beauty, dignity and abundance.”

Repeat the affirmations slowly rather than rushing through them.

Allow yourself to actually hear what you’re saying.

    5 Powerful Oshun-Inspired Affirmations

Use these affirmations on September 8 or whenever you want to reconnect with the qualities of confidence, flow, beauty and abundance:
    1. I am radiant, worthy, confident and magnetic.
    2. Love that honors and respects me flows naturally into my life.
    3. Prosperity and beautiful opportunities flow freely toward me.
    4. I welcome joy, creativity, pleasure and abundance into my life.
    5. Like the river, I continually flow toward everything aligned with my highest good.

A Prayer of Honor for Oshun

    Radiant Oshun,
    Lady of the flowing waters,
I honor the beauty, wisdom, sweetness, love and abundance you represent.
May the rivers of my life continue to flow.
    May stagnant pathways begin moving.
May I recognize my worth without depending upon the approval of others.
    May healthy love surround me.
May prosperity find fertile ground in my life.
    May creativity awaken within me.
May joy return to places where heaviness has remained too long.
Give me wisdom to recognize when I should stand firmly and when I should flow around the obstacle.
May my heart remain open while my discernment remains strong.
May I remember that I am worthy of dignity, respect, beauty, joy, love and abundance.
And may I remain grateful for the sweetness already present within my life. May the river continue to flow.

Honoring Oshun Through Your Everyday Life

Perhaps one of the most meaningful ways to reflect on Oshun isn’t limited to September 8.
    Carry the lesson forward.
    Bring flowers into your home.
    Take care of your body.
Protect freshwater and the natural environment.
    Create something beautiful.
    Dance.
    Listen to music.
    Practice gratitude.
    Treat yourself with dignity.
Stop chasing relationships that don’t honor you.
    Allow yourself to receive compliments.
Celebrate other people’s successes without believing they diminish your own.
    Make your surroundings more beautiful.
Create financial goals that support the life you want.
And remember to enjoy some of what you work so hard to create.
Spirituality shouldn’t only teach us how to endure life.
It can also remind us how to experience it.

The Lesson of Oshun: Let Your Life Flow

Oshun’s river carries a timeless message.
You do not have to force every door.
You do not have to chase everything.
You do not have to diminish yourself to receive love.
And you do not have to prove your worth before allowing yourself to experience joy.
Sometimes the next chapter begins when you stop fighting the current.
    Release what has become stagnant.
    Recognize your worth.
    Welcome sweetness.
    Remain open to opportunity.
    And allow yourself to receive.
This September 8, may love fill your heart, joy fill your home, prosperity fill your path, and abundance flow through your life like a beautiful, never-ending river.

    Happy Feast Day to Oshun.

  • Yemayá Feast Day: Honoring the Powerful Mother of Waters on September 7

Every year on September 7, many devotees within the Afro-Cuban Lukumí tradition honor Yemayá, the magnificent Mother of Waters. Known as Yemọja in Yoruba tradition, she is one of the most beloved and widely recognized Òrìṣhà throughout the African diaspora.

Her presence evokes the vastness of water itself—nurturing yet powerful, peaceful yet unstoppable.

For those who honor Yemayá, her celebration is a beautiful opportunity to reflect upon motherhood, protection, family, emotional healing, renewal, resilience, and the sacred waters that sustain all life.

It is important to recognize that September 7 is particularly associated with Yemayá in Afro-Cuban/Lukumí practice through her historical association with Our Lady of Regla. Yemọja/Yemayá is honored differently across Yoruba and African diasporic traditions, and there is no single universal feast date observed by every lineage.

    Who Is Yemayá?

Yemayá is the diasporic name commonly associated with Yemọja, an important Òrìṣhà whose origins are found among the Yoruba people of West Africa.

In Yorubaland, Yemọja has historically been associated with fresh water and particularly the Ògùn River, while traditions that developed throughout the African diaspora—especially in Cuba and Brazil—expanded her powerful association with the sea and ocean.

    This distinction is important.

Today, many people immediately picture Yemayá standing before an enormous blue ocean. That imagery is deeply rooted in diasporic traditions, but her history reaches back to the rivers of Yorubaland.

Her name is commonly interpreted in connection with the Yoruba expression “Mother whose children are fish.”

It is a magnificent spiritual image: an immense mother whose children are as numerous as the fish within the waters.

    Yemayá: Mother of Waters

    Water is essential to life.

Before we ever take our first breath, we develop surrounded by water within the womb.

    Water nourishes us.

    Water cleanses us.

    Water sustains the Earth.

    And water continuously moves.

These qualities help us understand why Yemayá has become such a profound symbol of motherhood, fertility, nurturing, protection, family and emotional depth.

But there is another side to water that should never be forgotten.

The ocean can be gentle enough to touch your feet with a quiet wave—and powerful enough to reshape an entire coastline.

Yemayá therefore offers a beautiful spiritual lesson:

Being nurturing does not mean being weak.

You can love deeply while maintaining boundaries.

You can care for others without abandoning yourself.

You can be compassionate while protecting your peace.

And you can be gentle while possessing extraordinary strength.

Why Is Yemayá Honored on September 7?

Within Afro-Cuban Lukumí tradition, September 7 became strongly associated with Yemayá through her syncretic relationship with Our Lady of Regla, whose Catholic feast is celebrated on that date.

This connection developed under complex historical circumstances as enslaved Africans and their descendants preserved African religious traditions in colonial societies dominated by Christianity.

African spiritual traditions survived despite tremendous pressure, persecution and cultural disruption.

As a result, Catholic saints and Marian figures became historically associated with various Òrìṣhà within some diasporic traditions.

That does not mean Yemayá and Our Lady of Regla originated as the same spiritual figure.

Rather, their association reflects part of the complicated history through which African religious traditions survived and evolved throughout the diaspora.

    The Spiritual Meaning of Yemayá

For many devotees, Yemayá carries powerful associations with:

    Motherhood • Protection • Family • Fertility • Nurturing • Water • Emotional strength • Healing • Renewal • Resilience

Her symbolism can also encourage us to examine our emotional lives.

Water flows rather than remaining permanently trapped in one place.

Sometimes we need to do the same.

    We may hold onto disappointment.

    Old relationships.

    Grief.

    Fear.

    Anger.

    Regret.

Or even an outdated version of ourselves.

Yemayá’s waters can become a powerful metaphor for asking:

What am I ready to stop carrying?

And perhaps an even more important question:

What becomes possible when I finally release it?

A Respectful Way to Reflect on Yemayá’s Feast Day

If you belong to a Yoruba, Lukumí or other African diasporic religious tradition, honor Yemayá according to the practices taught within your lineage.

If you are simply learning about Yemayá, you do not need to imitate ceremonies, offerings or initiatory practices you have not been taught.

You can instead use September 7 as an opportunity for respectful reflection and education.

Spend some quiet time near water.

Learn about Yoruba history and spirituality.

Support the preservation of oceans, rivers and waterways.

Express gratitude toward the mothers and maternal figures who have nurtured you.

Offer kindness to someone who needs emotional support.

And remember to nurture yourself as well.

    A Simple Water Reflection

For a personal spiritual reflection—not as a substitute for a traditional Yemayá ceremony—place a bowl or glass of clean water before you.

Sit quietly and take three slow breaths.

Think about something emotionally heavy that you are ready to release.

    You might silently say:

“I release what no longer belongs in my life. I allow peace, healing and emotional renewal to flow through me.”

Then think about what you want to welcome into your life.

    Peace.

    Healthy relationships.

    Protection.

    Healing.

    Confidence.

    Prosperity.

    Love.

    Clarity.

Imagine yourself moving toward those qualities as naturally as water moves toward its destination.

    Yemayá-Inspired Affirmations

“I am protected, nurtured and surrounded by loving energy.”

“I move through life’s changes with the strength and wisdom of flowing water.”

“I release emotional burdens and welcome peace into my heart.”

“I protect my energy while remaining open to healthy love, abundance and meaningful relationships.”

“I am emotionally renewed, spiritually grounded and confidently moving toward my highest good.”

These are modern affirmations inspired by the themes explored in this article; they are not presented as traditional Yoruba or Lukumí prayers.

    Honoring the Mothers

Yemayá’s feast day also provides an opportunity to recognize something universal—the extraordinary power of motherhood.

    We honor biological mothers.

    Grandmothers.

    Ancestors.

Women who raised children who were not biologically theirs.

Women who became protectors, teachers and caregivers.

And all those whose nurturing presence helped another person survive, grow or believe in themselves.

There is enormous power in nurturing life.

And there is equally enormous power in learning when to nurture yourself.

    A Tribute to Yemayá

On this September 7, we honor the generations who have preserved the traditions surrounding Yemayá.

    We honor the waters.

    We honor motherhood.

    We honor protection.

    We honor resilience.

    We honor emotional healing.

And we honor the ability to begin again.

Because water teaches us something extraordinary:

It does not need to fight every obstacle it encounters.

    Sometimes it moves around it.

    Sometimes it moves beneath it.

    Sometimes it slowly transforms it.

    But eventually…

    water finds a way forward.

May that be your reminder today.

    Yemayá Feast Day Affirmation

“I flow forward with wisdom and grace. I am nurtured, protected, emotionally renewed, and open to the blessings unfolding in my life.”

    Àṣẹ.

  • Ori: The Sacred Power of Your Destiny in Yoruba Spirituality

What if one of the most important spiritual forces influencing your destiny isn’t somewhere outside of you?
What if it is intimately connected to who you are, the choices you make, the character you develop, and the path you came here to walk?
In Yoruba spiritual philosophy, this profound concept is known as Ori.
The Yoruba word orí literally means “head.” Yet within Yoruba religious and philosophical thought, Ori can have a much deeper meaning. It is associated with the inner or spiritual head, individual destiny, personal consciousness, and the unique direction of one’s life.
Understanding Ori introduces us to a powerful idea:
Destiny may give us a path, but character influences how we walk it.
    What Is Ori?
At its simplest level, Ori means the physical head.
However, Yoruba thought also distinguishes the physical or outer head from the deeper spiritual dimension commonly discussed as Ori Inu, the inner head.
Ori Inu is intimately associated with the individual person and their destiny.
This makes Ori different from simply thinking about a guardian spirit standing outside of you. It is profoundly personal—connected with your own existence and the life that is yours to live.
Within Yoruba philosophy, the head carries enormous symbolic and spiritual significance because it represents far more than physical appearance. It is associated with consciousness, individuality, direction, and destiny.
    Ori and Your Destiny
One of the most fascinating teachings surrounding Ori concerns destiny.
Traditional Yoruba thought includes the understanding that human beings come into earthly existence with an individual destiny.
One term associated with destiny is ayanmo, referring to that which has been apportioned or assigned to an individual.
This does not necessarily mean that human beings are powerless actors following an unchangeable script.
    Quite the opposite.
Yoruba philosophy places tremendous importance on how a person actually lives.
    Your decisions matter.
    Your behavior matters.
    Your relationships matter.
    Your wisdom matters.
And above all, your character matters.
This creates an important relationship between destiny and personal responsibility.
You may have a particular path to walk, but you are still responsible for the manner in which you walk it.
Ori Is Not Simply Another Orisha
    This distinction is important.
Yoruba religion recognizes numerous Òrìṣà, divine powers associated with different forces and dimensions of existence.
Ori, however, has an extraordinarily personal relationship with the individual.
    Your Ori is your Ori.
This does not mean Ori replaces the Òrìṣà, nor does it mean that Ori should be confused with Olódùmarè, the Supreme Being within Yoruba religious thought.
Rather, these concepts occupy different places within a sophisticated spiritual cosmology.
Reducing Ori to something like a modern “manifestation tool” misses much of its religious and philosophical depth.
Ori asks us to consider something much greater:
What is the life that is truly mine to live?
Ori and Iwa: Why Character Matters
You cannot fully explore the philosophy surrounding destiny without encountering another important Yoruba concept:
    Iwa—character.
A related expression is iwa pele, often translated along the lines of gentle, good, or balanced character.
    This includes qualities such as:

    • Patience
    • Integrity
    • Respect
    • Wisdom
    • Self-control
    • Responsibility
    • Consideration for others
This teaching carries an important spiritual message.
It isn’t enough simply to ask:
      “What is destined for me?”
      We should also ask:
“What kind of person am I becoming?”
Imagine being presented with extraordinary opportunities but lacking the discipline to maintain them.
Imagine receiving abundance but lacking the wisdom to manage it.
Imagine attracting relationships while repeatedly treating people poorly.
Destiny cannot become an excuse for avoiding personal responsibility.
Character determines how we respond when opportunities, challenges, relationships, losses, successes, and unexpected changes appear along our path.
This is one reason the philosophy of Ori remains so relevant today.
      Ori and Ifá
Ori is also connected with the broader spiritual world of Ifá.
Ifá is a sophisticated Yoruba divination and knowledge tradition associated with Orunmila, the Òrìṣà of wisdom and divination.
Through traditional Ifá divination, properly trained practitioners may seek insight concerning an individual’s circumstances, challenges, choices, spiritual obligations, character, and destiny.
Traditionally trained practitioners include Babalawos and, within traditions that recognize them, Iyanifas.
This distinction matters because Ifá is not simply a method of randomly selecting messages or predicting the future.
It is a living religious and philosophical tradition involving extensive knowledge, training, lineage, and, where appropriate, initiation.
Anyone interested in traditional ceremonies, divination, offerings, or initiatory practices should therefore seek guidance from a knowledgeable and reputable practitioner rather than relying solely upon material found online.
What Ori Can Teach Us About Comparison
There is another beautiful lesson we can draw from the philosophy of Ori.
Someone else’s path does not have to become yours.
      Modern life constantly encourages comparison.
      We see someone’s career.
      Their house.
      Their relationship.
      Their financial success.
      Their appearance.
      Their spiritual journey.
And increasingly, we see carefully edited versions of people’s lives on social media.
Without realizing it, we can begin chasing someone else’s definition of success.
The philosophy of Ori gives us another question to consider:
What if your greatest success comes from becoming more aligned with your own path rather than copying someone else’s?
Someone else’s opportunity may not be yours.
Someone else’s timing may not be yours.
Someone else’s spiritual journey may not be yours.
And someone else’s definition of abundance may not be yours.
Your responsibility is to walk your path with wisdom.
A Simple Daily Reflection for Honoring Your Path
You do not need to imitate ceremonies from a tradition in which you have not been trained to appreciate the wisdom contained within its philosophy.
      Instead, begin with reflection.
Before reaching for your phone in the morning, spend a few quiet minutes with yourself.
      Breathe slowly.
      Become still.
If it feels appropriate, gently place your hands upon your head and reflect on three questions:
Am I living according to my deepest values?
Are my daily choices strengthening or weakening the life I want to create?
Am I following my own path—or trying to live someone else’s?
      Don’t force an answer.
      Listen.
Then choose one action you can take that day that reflects greater wisdom, integrity, patience, courage, or responsibility.
This turns spirituality into something practical.
Because spiritual alignment isn’t only something we seek during rituals.
It is something we practice through the way we live.
      An Ori-Inspired Affirmation
Use this affirmation as a personal reflection rather than presenting it as a traditional Yoruba prayer:
“I walk my path with wisdom, integrity, and good character. I honor the destiny that is mine to fulfill.”
      Repeat it slowly.
      Then ask yourself:
What would living that affirmation actually look like today?
That question transforms words into action.
      The Deeper Lesson of Ori
Perhaps one of the greatest lessons we can take from Ori is that destiny is not merely something we wait to receive.
      It invites responsibility.
      It invites self-knowledge.
      It invites character.
And it invites us to stop abandoning our own path simply because someone else’s journey appears more impressive.
      Instead of continually asking:
“When will my destiny finally arrive?”
      Try asking:
“What kind of person must I become to walk my destiny well?”
      That question can change everything.
      Honor your path.
      Develop your character.
      Make wiser choices.
And remember that the life meant for you should not require you to become a copy of someone else.
      Walk your path with intention.
      Honor your Ori.
And become the person capable of carrying your destiny well.
Continue Your Journey with Awake and Conquer

A Great Wagon by Rumi: Beyond Right and Wrong Into Spiritual Unity

Rumi’s A Great Wagon invites us to move beyond the divisions that so often shape human experience—right and wrong, judgment and blame, separation and belonging—and enter a deeper state of spiritual awareness. Its most famous passage begins, “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing…” and points toward a symbolic meeting place beyond ordinary labels and conflict. The “field” Rumi describes can be understood not necessarily as a physical place, but as a state of consciousness where the ego’s need to judge, defend, compare, and separate begins to dissolve.

At the heart of the poem are themes of transcendence, unity, divine love, and awakening. Rumi encourages us to consider what becomes possible when we stop viewing ourselves and others entirely through opposing categories. Beyond those divisions lies an experience of connection—a recognition that beneath our differences, we participate in something greater than ourselves.

From a spiritual perspective, the poem can also be read as an invitation to awakening. The field represents the inner stillness we encounter when mental noise quiets and we become more receptive to presence, compassion, love, and the Divine. Rumi is not necessarily asking us to abandon discernment or pretend that actions have no consequences. Instead, his imagery points toward a level of consciousness deeper than the arguments and judgments that normally dominate our minds.

This is one reason A Great Wagon continues to resonate centuries after Rumi’s lifetime. Its message speaks to anyone who has felt exhausted by conflict, division, regret, or the constant pressure to decide who is right and who is wrong. Rumi offers another possibility: step beyond the argument for a moment, enter the field of awareness, and discover what remains when separation falls away.

Perhaps that is where true awakening begins—not by winning every argument, but by discovering the place within us where love, presence, and unity are greater than the divisions we have created.

  • Letting Go: How David R. Hawkins’ Pathway of Surrender Can Transform Your Life

What if the breakthrough you’ve been searching for doesn’t come from trying harder, controlling more, or forcing life to change?
What if it begins when you finally let go?
In Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender, David R. Hawkins, M.D., Ph.D., presents a method centered on releasing emotional resistance rather than continually suppressing, avoiding, or fighting uncomfortable feelings.
    It’s a deceptively simple idea.mm
Instead of allowing fear, anger, disappointment, guilt, resentment, or attachment to quietly control our lives, we learn to acknowledge what we’re feeling, allow the feeling to exist, and loosen our grip on it.
For anyone interested in spiritual growth, manifestation, consciousness, emotional freedom, or personal transformation, the concept raises a powerful question:
What could change in your life if you stopped carrying what you no longer needed?

What Does “Letting Go” Really Mean?

Letting go does not mean giving up.
It doesn’t mean pretending something didn’t hurt.
It doesn’t mean tolerating poor treatment, abandoning your goals, or refusing to take action.
Instead, Hawkins’ approach focuses on surrendering our internal resistance to the emotions we experience.
Think about something that upset you recently.
    Perhaps someone disappointed you.
    Maybe you’re worried about money.
Perhaps an opportunity didn’t work out.
Maybe you’re trying to manifest something you deeply desire, but underneath that desire is a constant fear that it won’t happen.
We often respond to uncomfortable feelings by suppressing them, distracting ourselves, overthinking them, blaming someone else, or desperately trying to replace them with positive thoughts.
But sometimes fighting an emotion gives it even more attention. The letting-go approach asks us to do something different:
Allow the feeling to be present without continually feeding the story surrounding it.

Feel the Emotion Without Becoming the Emotion
Imagine that you’re angry because someone said something hurtful.
    The emotion is anger.
But then the mind begins creating a story:
    “They don’t respect me.”
“People always treat me this way.”
“I should have said something different.”
    “I’ll never forgive them.”
Hours—or even days—later, the original conversation is over, but you’re still experiencing it internally.
This is where letting go becomes powerful.
Instead of repeatedly replaying the story, you turn your attention toward the emotion itself.

    Ask:
What am I actually feeling right now?
    Fear?
    Anger?
    Disappointment?
    Jealousy?
    Frustration?
    Sadness?
Whatever appears, allow yourself to acknowledge it.
    Take a slow breath.
    And quietly tell yourself:
“I allow myself to feel this without becoming this.”
    You are experiencing an emotion.
    You are not the emotion.

That distinction can create space between what you feel and how you choose to respond.

David R. Hawkins and the Levels of Consciousness
Hawkins is also widely known for his spiritual framework often called the Map of Consciousness.
Within his framework, emotional states such as shame, guilt, apathy, grief, fear, desire, anger, and pride are positioned below more expansive states such as courage, acceptance, reason, love, joy, peace, and enlightenment.
An important distinction should be made here.
Hawkins’ Map of Consciousness is best understood as his spiritual and philosophical framework, not as a scientifically established measurement system.
You don’t have to accept every aspect of the framework to use it as a tool for personal reflection.
    Ask yourself:
What emotional state am I living from most often?
Am I making decisions from fear?
    Am I reacting from anger?

    Am I constantly seeking approval?
Am I desperately trying to control outcomes?
Or am I increasingly operating from courage, acceptance, compassion, gratitude, and peace?
That can be an illuminating question.

    Letting Go and Manifestation

This is where letting go becomes especially interesting for anyone practicing manifestation.
Sometimes we assume manifestation means wanting something harder.
    We visualize.
    We affirm.
    We journal.
    We create vision boards.
    We repeat our intentions.
But underneath all those practices there can sometimes be another message:
“I desperately need this to happen”
That desperation may be connected to fear.
“I need more money because I’m afraid there won’t be enough.”
“I need this relationship because I’m afraid of being alone.”
“I need this opportunity because I’m afraid I’ll never succeed.”
“I need this manifestation because I can’t be happy until I have it.”
    Letting go offers another perspective.
You don’t necessarily abandon the desire.
You release the fear surrounding the desire.
    Instead of:
“I need this or I won’t be happy.”
    Try:
“I welcome this desire into my life while releasing the belief that my happiness depends upon it.”
    Instead of:
    “What if it never happens?”
    Try:
“I take aligned action while releasing my need to control every detail of the outcome.”
There is an important practical benefit here.
When we aren’t consumed by desperation, we may be able to see opportunities more clearly, make calmer decisions, and recognize possibilities we previously overlooked.
Manifestation then becomes less about forcing life and more about combining intention with action, openness, and emotional flexibility.

    A Simple Letting-Go Practice

You can experiment with the concept without beginning with the most painful experience of your life.
    In fact, start small.
    Choose something manageable.
    Maybe someone irritated you today.
    Perhaps you’re disappointed about something.
Maybe you’re worried about an upcoming situation.
    Now ask:
    “What am I feeling?
Don’t immediately answer with what happened.
    Name the emotion.
    Fear.
    Anger.
    Disappointment.
    Frustration.
    Sadness
    Whatever appears, acknowledge it.
    Take a slow breath.
Notice where you feel the emotion in your body.
Don’t judge yourself for feeling it.
Don’t immediately try to change it.
Allow it to exist for a moment.
    Then quietly say:
“I allow myself to feel this without becoming this.”
    Breathe again.
    Then say:
“I am willing to release what I no longer need to carry.”
There is no need to force an emotional breakthrough.
Simply practice observing, allowing, and releasing.

What Are You Ready to Put Down?

One of the most empowering realizations is that every emotion doesn’t require an immediate reaction.
Every thought doesn’t require your belief.
Every disagreement doesn’t require another argument.
Every disappointment doesn’t deserve permanent residence in your mind.
And every chapter of your past doesn’t deserve a seat at the table of your future.
Sometimes transformation isn’t about adding another technique.
    Sometimes it’s about asking:
What am I finally ready to release?
    Maybe it’s resentment.
    Maybe it’s guilt.
    Maybe it’s fear.
Maybe it’s the need for someone’s approval.
    Maybe it’s an old relationship.
Maybe it’s disappointment about something that didn’t happen.
Maybe it’s the belief that you’re running out of time.
Or perhaps it’s simply an outdated version of yourself that no longer belongs in the life you’re creating.

    10 Affirmations for Letting Go

Use these affirmations during meditation, journaling, or whenever you notice yourself becoming emotionally attached to an unwanted thought or situation.

    • “I release what no longer serves my highest good.”
    • “I allow my emotions to move through me without controlling me.”
    • “I am free from the need to control every outcome.”
    • “I choose peace over emotional resistance.”
    • “I release fear and move forward with courage.”
    • “I trust myself to handle what comes next.”
    • “I release the need to control, and I trust life to unfold in my favor.”
    • “I am free from the emotional weight of my past, and I move forward with confidence.”
    • “I release attachment to outcomes and remain open to opportunities greater than I imagined.”
    • “I let go with trust, receive with gratitude, and allow abundance to flow into my life.”

Let Go and Make Room for Something New

There is something powerful about realizing that letting go isn’t always about losing something.
Sometimes letting go is how we make room.
    Room for peace.
    Room for clarity.
    Room for healthier relationships.
    Room for better decisions.
    Room for opportunities.
    Room for abundance.
Room for the person we’re becoming.
You don’t have to know exactly what comes next before releasing what has already ended.
    So today, ask yourself:
What am I carrying that I no longer want to carry into tomorrow?
    Start with one thing.
    One fear.
    One resentment.
    One attachment.
    One limiting belief.
    One emotional burden.
    Take a breath.
    Acknowledge it.
And give yourself permission to begin releasing it.
Let go of what weighs you down. Keep what strengthens you. And make room for what comes next.

  • August 12, 2026: 4 Amazing Sky Events Converge in One Extraordinary Day

Total Solar Eclipse • New Moon in Leo • Perseid Meteor Shower • Six-Planet Morning Lineup

August 12, 2026, is shaping up to be one of the most fascinating celestial dates of the year.

Imagine beginning the day with multiple planets spread across the predawn sky, witnessing a Total Solar Eclipse from parts of Europe and the Arctic, experiencing the New Moon in Leo, and then watching for the brilliant streaks of the Perseid Meteor Shower after darkness falls.

Four remarkable celestial phenomena converge around the same date—and each carries its own astronomical significance.

For those who enjoy astrology and spiritual practices, August 12 also offers powerful symbolism surrounding new beginnings, courage, confidence, transformation, and stepping more fully into your personal power.

Let’s explore what’s actually happening in the heavens—and what this extraordinary day can symbolize for your own journey.

The Total Solar Eclipse of August 12, 2026

The centerpiece of August 12 is a Total Solar Eclipse.

A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun. During a total solar eclipse, the alignment is precise enough that the Moon completely covers the Sun’s bright surface for observers located within the narrow path of totality.

    And here’s an important fact:

A solar eclipse can only occur at a New Moon.

However, not every New Moon creates an eclipse because the Moon’s orbit is tilted relative to Earth’s orbit around the Sun.

On August 12, the alignment is just right.

The path of totality crosses areas including Greenland, Iceland, northern Russia and Spain, with a small portion of Portugal also experiencing totality. A much larger region will experience a partial solar eclipse.

For people fortunate enough to be inside the path of totality, daylight will briefly transform into an eerie twilight as the Moon completely covers the Sun.

The Sun’s magnificent corona can then become visible around the dark lunar disk.

It’s one of nature’s most spectacular sights.

    Important Eclipse Safety

Never look directly at the Sun during the partial phases of an eclipse without proper solar-viewing protection.

Regular sunglasses are not safe eclipse glasses.

If you’re using binoculars, a telescope or a camera, appropriate solar filters must be properly attached to the front of the optics.

    The New Moon in Leo

The eclipse occurs during a New Moon in Leo, adding another layer of symbolism for those who follow astrology.

Leo is traditionally ruled by the Sun.

It is associated with themes such as:

    Confidence • Creativity • Leadership • Courage • Passion • Visibility • Authentic Self-Expression

A New Moon traditionally symbolizes beginnings.

An eclipse, meanwhile, has historically been associated with periods of change and transition.

Together, the symbolism presents an interesting question:

Where are you ready to stop hiding your light?

Perhaps you’ve been postponing a dream.

Maybe you’ve been afraid to share your talents.

Or perhaps you’re entering a chapter in which you’re finally ready to become more visible, confident and intentional about the life you’re creating.

The Leo New Moon offers a beautiful opportunity for reflection:

What do I genuinely want to create next?

Where do I need greater confidence?

What part of myself am I finally ready to express?

Astronomy explains what’s physically happening in the heavens. Astrology offers a symbolic framework people may choose to use for reflection.

You don’t have to believe that celestial events determine your destiny to let an extraordinary moment in nature inspire meaningful change.

The Perseid Meteor Shower Lights Up the Night

After the eclipse, another spectacular celestial event takes center stage.

The Perseid Meteor Shower is one of the most anticipated meteor showers of the year.

The Perseids occur when Earth travels through debris left behind by Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle.

Tiny particles enter Earth’s atmosphere at tremendous speeds, producing the brilliant streaks of light commonly called shooting stars.

And 2026 offers particularly favorable circumstances.

The Perseids reach their peak around the night of August 12 into the early hours of August 13, while the Moon is essentially absent from the nighttime sky.

That means there is very little moonlight to wash out faint meteors.

Under clear, dark skies away from city lights, observers may have an excellent opportunity to enjoy the show.

And you don’t need a telescope.

    Find a safe, dark location.

Allow your eyes time to adjust.

Look toward a broad section of the sky.

    And be patient.

Sometimes the most magnificent experiences require nothing more than looking up.

Six Planets Join the Celestial Show

Before sunrise around August 12, another unusual sight awaits skywatchers.

Six planets are spread across the morning sky:

    Mercury • Jupiter • Mars • Uranus • Saturn • Neptune

This type of gathering is popularly described as a planet parade or planetary alignment.

    But there’s an important distinction.

The planets aren’t literally forming a perfectly straight line through space.

From Earth’s perspective, planets generally appear near the ecliptic, the path along which the Sun, Moon and planets appear to move across our sky.

Some of these planets are much easier to see than others.

Bright planets can be observed with the naked eye under suitable conditions, while Uranus and Neptune generally require binoculars or a telescope.

Your exact visibility will also depend on your geographic location, weather, light pollution and horizon.

Still, seeing several planets sharing the predawn sky adds another extraordinary dimension to August’s celestial display.

Why August 12, 2026 Is So Special

    Consider the sequence.

Before sunrise, several planets occupy the morning sky.

Then the New Moon passes directly between Earth and the Sun, producing a Total Solar Eclipse along a narrow path across our planet.

Later, darkness returns to an almost moonless sky while the Perseid Meteor Shower reaches its peak period.

That’s what makes August 12 fascinating.

It’s not because four unrelated events magically occur at precisely the same second.

Instead, several genuine astronomical cycles happen to converge around one extraordinary date.

And sometimes reality is impressive enough without exaggeration.

The Spiritual Meaning of August 12

For spiritual practitioners, celestial events can become opportunities for introspection and intention-setting.

Eclipses have inspired fascination across cultures for thousands of years.

Modern spiritual practices frequently associate eclipse periods with:

    Transformation

    Release

    Closing old chapters

    Unexpected change

    Personal awakening

    New directions

Combine those themes with the symbolism traditionally associated with Leo, and August 12 can become a meaningful day to examine one important question:

    Who are you becoming?

Leo symbolism encourages us to stand confidently in our identity rather than continually shrinking ourselves to fit other people’s expectations.

Perhaps this is your moment to say:

I am ready to be seen.

I am ready to believe in myself.

I am ready to create something bigger.

I am ready for my next chapter.

Simple Leo New Moon Reflection Ritual

You don’t need an elaborate ritual to mark August 12.

Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed.

If appropriate and safe, light a gold or yellow candle to symbolize confidence, illumination and Leo’s solar association.

    Take several slow breaths.

    Then write down three questions:

What am I ready to release?

What am I ready to begin?

    Who am I becoming?

Now choose one practical action you can take toward that new beginning.

    This final step matters.

Manifestation doesn’t have to mean waiting for the universe to deliver something.

It can mean bringing your intention, attention and actions into alignment with what you want to create.

10 Powerful Leo New Moon Affirmations

August 12, 2026 reminds us how enormous and extraordinary our universe really is.

    A Total Solar Eclipse.

    A New Moon in Leo.

    The Perseid Meteor Shower.

And six planets gathered across the morning sky.

For astronomers, it’s a fascinating convergence of celestial cycles.

For spiritual seekers, it can also become a symbolic invitation to reflect, release, dream and begin again.

And perhaps that’s the most beautiful message of all.

While you’re watching the heavens change, give yourself permission to change too.

  • 8:8 Lion’s Gate Portal 2026: Manifest Abundance, Courage & Your Highest Timeline

Every year on August 8, countless people around the world pause to celebrate what has become known as the Lion’s Gate Portal. For many, it is a meaningful time to reflect, set intentions, reconnect with personal goals, and embrace new opportunities. Whether you approach it from a spiritual perspective or simply see it as an inspiring annual tradition, the Lion’s Gate Portal encourages us to move forward with confidence, gratitude, and purpose.

Let’s explore the symbolism behind this fascinating event and discover practical ways to make the most of it.

What Is the Lion’s Gate Portal?

The Lion’s Gate Portal is a modern spiritual observance centered around August 8 (8:8), when the Sun is traveling through the zodiac sign of Leo.

Despite its name, it is not a physical portal opening in the sky. Instead, it is a symbolic period that many people use for meditation, manifestation, prayer, journaling, and personal growth.

The repeating number 8:8 has become associated with themes such as:

    • Abundance
    • Prosperity
    • Balance
    • Infinite possibilities
    • Personal empowerment
    • New beginnings

For many, the Lion’s Gate serves as a yearly reminder to realign with the life they truly want to create.

    The Ancient Connection to Sirius

One of the most fascinating aspects of the Lion’s Gate Portal is its symbolic connection to Sirius, the brightest star visible in Earth’s night sky.

Ancient Egyptians carefully observed the heliacal rising of Sirius, which is the star’s first visible appearance in the eastern sky just before sunrise after a period of being hidden by the Sun’s glare.

This celestial event closely coincided with the annual flooding of the Nile River.

    Those life-giving floods brought:

    • Fertile soil
    • Fresh water
    • Successful harvests
    • Renewal
    • Prosperity

Because of this, Sirius became a powerful symbol of hope, abundance, renewal, and divine timing.

Modern Lion’s Gate traditions combine the symbolism of Sirius, Leo season, and the number eight into an annual period of intention-setting and spiritual reflection.

    Leo: The Sign of Courage

Leo is ruled by the Sun and symbolizes:

    • Confidence
    • Leadership
    • Creativity
    • Generosity
    • Authentic self-expression
    • Heart-centered living

Leo reminds us that our unique gifts are meant to be shared with the world.

This season asks us to stop hiding our talents and begin living with greater purpose and authenticity.

    Ask yourself:

    • What dream have I been postponing?
    • What would I do if fear wasn’t holding me back?
    • What legacy do I want to leave?

Sometimes the greatest transformation begins with one courageous decision.

The Spiritual Meaning of the Number Eight

The number 8 carries rich symbolism in many traditions.

    It represents:

    • Infinity
    • Balance
    • Success
    • Personal responsibility
    • Prosperity
    • Continuous growth

Turn the number eight on its side and it becomes the infinity symbol.

It reminds us that opportunities never truly disappear—they simply invite us to keep growing and moving forward.

Why So Many People Celebrate the Lion’s Gate

Many practitioners use this period to:

    • Meditate
    • Pray
    • Journal
    • Practice gratitude
    • Release limiting beliefs
    • Visualize future goals
    • Create vision boards
    • Set meaningful intentions

Whether you believe in spiritual energy or simply appreciate taking time for personal reflection, these practices can help strengthen focus and motivation.

    A Simple Lion’s Gate Ritual

Create a peaceful space where you can relax without distractions.

    Gather:

A gold candle representing confidence, success, and abundance

    Citrine for optimism and prosperity

Clear Quartz to amplify your intentions

Tiger’s Eye for courage and determination

A sunflower symbolizing positivity, vitality, and the life-giving energy of the Sun

    A journal and pen

    Light the candle safely.

    Take several slow, deep breaths.

Express gratitude for the blessings already present in your life.

Write one intention that reflects the person you are becoming rather than focusing on what you lack.

Visualize yourself already living that future with confidence, peace, and joy.

End your ritual by thanking yourself for taking this meaningful step toward your goals.

Seven Signs You May Be Aligning with the Lion’s Gate

Many spiritual practitioners describe experiences such as:

    • Feeling inspired to start something new
    • Letting go of old habits or limiting beliefs
    • Noticing meaningful coincidences or synchronicities
    • Increased creativity
    • Greater confidence
    • Stronger intuition
    • A deeper sense of gratitude

Everyone’s experience is unique, but these moments can serve as reminders to reflect and move forward intentionally.

    Looking Ahead to Eclipse Season

This year’s Lion’s Gate arrives just days before the August 12 Solar Eclipse.

Many spiritual practitioners choose to use the Lion’s Gate as a time to clarify intentions before continuing their journey through eclipse season.

While eclipses are real astronomical events, their spiritual interpretations vary among different traditions. Regardless of your beliefs, they can provide meaningful opportunities for reflection, change, and new beginnings.

    Five Present-Tense Lion’s Gate Affirmations

I confidently step into my highest purpose and welcome abundance into every area of my life.

I align my thoughts, actions, and intentions with success, courage, and limitless possibilities.

I radiate confidence, attract positive opportunities, and create the life I truly desire.

I trust my inner wisdom, embrace new beginnings, and move forward with clarity and determination.

I am grateful for the abundance already flowing into my life, and I receive every blessing with an open heart.

The true power of the Lion’s Gate Portal isn’t found in waiting for life to magically change overnight.

Its greatest gift is the reminder that transformation begins with a decision.

A decision to believe in yourself.

A decision to release what no longer serves you.

A decision to move forward with courage instead of fear.

Whether you celebrate the Lion’s Gate as a spiritual tradition or simply as an annual opportunity to reflect on your goals, let it inspire you to take meaningful action toward the life you want to create.

Your highest timeline isn’t built in a single day—it is created through the choices you make every day.

    Happy Lion’s Gate Portal!

  • Catherine Ponder’s 7 Prosperity Principles: Transform Your Wealth Mindset and Open Your Life to Abundance

What if prosperity begins before the money arrives?

Long before “abundance mindset” became a popular phrase, Catherine Ponder was teaching that prosperity begins with consciousness—our beliefs, expectations, words, attitudes, and willingness to receive.

Her 1962 book The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity became one of the classics of New Thought prosperity literature. Ponder went on to write numerous books exploring prosperity, healing, love, forgiveness, and the spiritual principles she believed could help people create richer, more fulfilling lives.

But there is an important distinction in her teachings:

Prosperity isn’t only about becoming wealthy.

It represents a fuller experience of life—greater peace, well-being, meaningful relationships, opportunity, purpose, and sufficient material resources. Unity’s discussion of Ponder’s work similarly describes prosperity as encompassing “peace, health, and plenty,” rather than money alone.

So what can Catherine Ponder’s teachings offer us today?

Let’s explore seven powerful principles inspired by her prosperity philosophy.

    Who Is Catherine Ponder?

Catherine Ponder is an American Unity minister and influential New Thought author whose writings helped popularize the concept of prosperity consciousness.

Her best-known books include The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity, Open Your Mind to Prosperity, The Prosperity Secrets of the Ages, The Millionaires of Genesis, The Millionaires of the Bible, and The Healing Secrets of the Ages.

Her work combines spirituality with practical ideas involving thought, imagination, affirmation, forgiveness, expectation, giving, receiving, and developing a consciousness capable of recognizing greater possibilities.

This makes Ponder particularly fascinating because her prosperity teachings aren’t merely about acquiring money.

They’re about changing your relationship with abundance.

    1. Develop a Prosperity Consciousness

The foundation of Ponder’s philosophy is prosperity consciousness.

Consider how differently two people might respond to the same opportunity.

    One thinks:

“People like me never get opportunities like this.”

    The other thinks:

“This could be worth exploring. What would I need to learn to make it work?”

    The opportunity is identical.

    The internal response isn’t.

Prosperity consciousness means developing a mindset that can recognize possibility rather than automatically assuming limitation.

This doesn’t mean pretending financial difficulties don’t exist.

It means refusing to make temporary circumstances your permanent identity.

    Instead of continually asking:

    “Why don’t I have enough?”

    Begin asking:

“How can I create more value, opportunity, income and financial stability?”

    That question invites action.

    2. Open Your Mind to Receiving

Ponder devoted an entire book to this idea: Open Your Mind to Prosperity.

Sometimes people desire abundance while simultaneously feeling uncomfortable receiving it.

They may believe wanting money is selfish.

    They may undervalue their work.

They may feel guilty charging appropriately.

They may reject opportunities because they don’t feel deserving.

Or they may believe spirituality and financial prosperity cannot coexist.

Ponder challenged that kind of thinking.

    Prosperity doesn’t require worshipping money.

    Money is a resource.

It can provide security, housing, education, experiences, generosity, charitable giving, business opportunities and freedom to make choices.

    The deeper question becomes:

Can you receive prosperity without guilt while using it wisely?

    3. Use Your Words Intentionally

Here Ponder’s work intersects beautifully with our previous Metaphysical Master, Florence Scovel Shinn.

Both emphasized the importance of language.

Consider how often people unconsciously affirm scarcity:

    “Everything is too expensive.”

    “I’ll never have enough.”

    “Money doesn’t stay with me.”

    “I’ll always struggle.”

Instead, experiment with language that encourages possibility without denying reality:

“I am learning to manage and grow my money wisely.”

“I am becoming more aware of profitable opportunities.”

“I create increasing value through my skills and abilities.”

“My financial decisions are becoming wiser and more intentional.”

    The purpose isn’t magical thinking.

It’s changing the mental script that accompanies your financial behavior.

    4. Visualization Gives Prosperity a Direction

Ponder also emphasized imagination and visualization.

Before you can intentionally move toward something, it helps to know what that “something” looks like.

What does prosperity actually mean to you?

    A debt-free life?

    A comfortable retirement?

    Owning your home?

    Building a successful business?

    Travel?

    Helping your family?

    Having multiple income streams?

    Giving generously?

    Financial independence?

Instead of visualizing money simply falling from the sky, visualize the life the money supports.

    See yourself managing it responsibly.

    See the business operating.

    See the savings account growing.

See yourself making thoughtful investment decisions.

    See the completed project.

    See yourself confidently negotiating.

See the freedom your financial progress provides.

    Then ask:

What behavior would the person in that vision practice today?

Now visualization becomes a bridge to action.

    5. Release What Keeps You Attached to Scarcity

Another recurring theme throughout Ponder’s writings is release.

Sometimes creating something new requires letting go of something old.

    That might include resentment.

    Fear.

    Guilt.

    Old financial mistakes.

    Negative beliefs inherited from childhood.

The belief that wealthy people are automatically bad.

The belief that money is inherently unspiritual.

Or the belief that because something hasn’t happened yet, it never will.

Ponder’s spiritual approach often incorporates forgiveness and release as ways of making room for something better.

    A simple affirmation might be:

“I release beliefs and habits that no longer support my prosperity.”

Then identify an actual behavior to release with them.

    Maybe it’s impulse spending.

    Avoiding your finances.

    Underpricing your services.

    Procrastinating.

Or refusing to learn about money because it feels intimidating.

Release becomes far more powerful when accompanied by change.

    6. Practice the Flow of Giving and Receiving

Giving (Tithing) is another important part of traditional New Thought prosperity teachings. The word tithe means a tenth part.

But this principle deserves careful interpretation.

Giving should not mean donating money you cannot afford because you expect the universe to return a larger amount.

There is no guaranteed spiritual investment formula.

Instead, think about prosperity as circulation.

    You receive value.

    You create value.

    You exchange value.

    You share value.

    You help others.

    Others help you.

    You spend intentionally.

    You save.

    You invest.

    You contribute.

    Money moves.

    Knowledge moves.

    Opportunities move.

    Generosity moves.

Ponder’s broader prosperity philosophy encourages openness to both sides of that circulation:

    giving and receiving.

Some people are comfortable giving but uncomfortable receiving.

Learning to receive graciously can be part of abundance consciousness too.

    7. Combine Prosperity Thinking With Prosperity Action

This is where I would take Catherine Ponder’s philosophy one step further for today’s reader.

    A prosperity mindset is valuable.

But mindset needs a practical partner:

    action.

If you desire greater prosperity, your actions might include developing a valuable skill, starting a business, applying for a better position, negotiating compensation, reducing high-interest debt, building an emergency fund, learning about investing, creating another income stream, or finally launching the idea you’ve been postponing.

Spiritual prosperity and practical financial literacy don’t have to oppose one another.

    They can work together.

    Affirmation gives your mind direction.

Visualization gives your goal an image.

    Faith gives you perseverance.

Action gives your intention a pathway into the physical world.

A Simple Catherine Ponder-Inspired Prosperity Practice

    Try this for seven days.

Each morning, sit quietly for several minutes.

Choose one area of prosperity you want to improve.

Then visualize yourself already behaving like someone capable of creating and managing that prosperity.

    Speak one affirmation aloud:

“I am open, receptive and responsive to prosperous opportunities.”

Next, write down three things already abundant in your life.

They don’t have to be financial.

    Knowledge.

    Friends.

    Food.

    Ideas.

    Healthful habits.

    Creativity.

    A safe place to sleep.

    A new opportunity.

Gratitude helps shift attention from exclusively noticing absence toward recognizing existing resources.

Then finish with the most important question:

“What prosperity-producing action will I take today?”

    Write it down.

    And do it.

    7 Present-Tense Prosperity Affirmations

Use these during meditation, journaling, visualization, or your morning routine:

“I am open and receptive to prosperous opportunities.”

“I create increasing value and welcome increasing abundance into my life.”

“My relationship with money is healthy, confident and intentional.”

“I recognize opportunities that support my prosperity and highest good.”

“I manage the resources I receive with wisdom and gratitude.”

“I release limiting beliefs and make room for greater possibilities.”

“I am building a prosperous life through faith, wisdom and purposeful action.”

    Prosperity Is Bigger Than Money

Perhaps one of the most useful aspects of Catherine Ponder’s philosophy is remembering that prosperity cannot be measured entirely by a bank balance.

Imagine having enormous wealth but no peace.

Or tremendous professional success but no meaningful relationships.

True prosperity can include financial security, certainly.

    But also:

    Peace.

    Purpose.

    Love.

    Health.

    Freedom.

    Time.

    Creativity.

    Generosity.

    Opportunity.

    Spiritual fulfillment.

That’s a much richer definition of abundance.

    Catherine Ponder’s Legacy

Decades after The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity was first published, Ponder’s work continues to circulate among readers interested in New Thought, manifestation, prosperity consciousness and metaphysics.

Her teachings also help us trace the history of ideas that are now everywhere online.

Long before phrases such as money mindset, abundance consciousness, and manifesting prosperity became social-media vocabulary, teachers such as Ponder were writing entire books about changing one’s inner relationship with prosperity.

And her central message remains worth considering:

Before expanding what you have, expand what you believe is possible—and then become willing to act upon those possibilities.

That is where prosperity consciousness becomes prosperity practice.

  • The Manifestation Blueprint: Easy Energy for Success — Rev. Mignon Grayson’s Approach to Abundant Living

What if manifestation doesn’t have to feel complicated?

You don’t necessarily need an elaborate ritual, dozens of tools, or years of spiritual study before you begin working toward the life you desire.

That accessibility is one of the most interesting aspects of the work of Rev. Mignon Grayson, author of The Art of Manifestation: Simple Energy Techniques to Create the Abundant Life You Deserve.

Her approach brings together manifestation, personal energy, emotions, intention, spiritual practice, and practical techniques designed to help people become more conscious participants in creating change.

For our Metaphysical Masters series, let’s explore what Rev. Mignon Grayson’s manifestation philosophy can teach us about abundance—and how you can turn some of those ideas into a simple daily practice.

    Who Is Rev. Mignon Grayson?

Rev. Mignon Grayson is an author, spiritual teacher, sound healer, and founder of Sacred Mysteries World Wide. Her biography describes her as an ordained Indigenous Interspiritual Minister whose work draws upon ancient spiritual traditions and emphasizes spiritual development, the Divine Feminine, healing, and helping people connect with their spiritual calling.

She is also the author of a three-book manifestation series:

The Art of ManifestationSimple Energy Techniques to Create the Abundant Life You Deserve

The Work of ManifestationRituals, Crystals, Herbs, Oils & Baths to Create the Life You Deserve

The Words of ManifestationPrayers, Psalms, Affirmations, Mantras & Incantations to Create a Life of Abundance

Her own site describes the series as moving through different aspects of manifestation and spiritual practice

And that progression is particularly interesting for Awake and Conquer readers.

    It essentially moves from:

Energy → Spiritual Work → Words

In other words, manifestation isn’t presented as one isolated technique. It becomes a multidimensional spiritual practice.

    Manifestation Begins With Your Energy

One of the central ideas in Grayson’s work is that human beings have inner resources that can be deliberately directed.

Her writing discusses the meeting point of mind, spirit, energy, emotion, and physical experience.

This gives us a useful way to think about manifestation.

    Suppose you want greater prosperity.

    You can write:

    “I am prosperous.”

    But what happens immediately afterward?

    Do you feel possibility—or defeat?

Do your daily decisions support financial improvement?

    Do you recognize opportunities?

    Do you act on them?

Do you believe change is possible enough to continue trying?

Manifestation becomes more meaningful when the intention isn’t separated from the person pursuing it.

    Your Emotions Can Become Fuel

Grayson specifically writes about emotions as catalysts for action and discusses directing emotional energy into manifestation work.

This gives us an important distinction.

You don’t need to pretend to be happy every second.

Instead, learn to recognize emotional states and deliberately cultivate states that support your goals.

Consider the difference between approaching an opportunity while thinking:

    “Nothing ever works for me.”

    and approaching it with:

“This could lead somewhere. I’m going to give it my best effort.”

    The opportunity hasn’t changed.

Your relationship with the opportunity has.

And that can change your behavior.

    The Four-Part Manifestation Blueprint

We can translate these teachings into a simple framework:

    1. Intention

Get specific about what you actually desire.

    Instead of:

    “I want more money.”

    Try:

“I am creating greater financial stability and multiple sources of income.”

Your intention gives your attention somewhere to go.

    2. Energy

    Ask yourself:

What emotional state am I repeatedly bringing to this goal?

    Fear?

    Desperation?

    Confidence?

    Gratitude?

    Excitement?

    Determination?

You don’t need to suppress difficult emotions. Recognize them, work through them, and intentionally cultivate emotional states that help you move.

    3. Spiritual Practice

This is where Grayson’s work becomes particularly relevant to metaphysical practitioners.

Her second manifestation book moves into rituals, meditation, crystals, herbs, oils, spiritual baths and other spiritual tools. It also discusses working with Archangels in manifestation practice.

For someone following a spiritual path, these practices can become symbolic ways of focusing intention and creating meaningful ritual around a goal.

    4. Action

This part should never be overlooked.

If you’re manifesting a better career, submit the application.

If you’re manifesting a business, build the offer.

If you’re manifesting financial stability, create the budget.

If you’re manifesting better relationships, communicate differently.

    If you’re manifesting knowledge, study.

Your spiritual practice can focus your intention.

Your actions give that intention somewhere to land.

    Scripting as a Manifestation Technique

Grayson has also written about scripting as a manifestation practice.

Interestingly, she discusses both present-tense and past-tense scripting. Present-tense scripting describes the desired reality as happening now, while past-tense scripting approaches it as though the desired experience has already happened.

    You could experiment with both.

    Present Tense

“I am grateful that my life is becoming increasingly prosperous. I recognize excellent opportunities, make wise decisions, and confidently take action toward my goals.”

    Past Tense

“I am so grateful for how much changed this year. Looking back, I can see all the opportunities that appeared and how confidently I acted upon them.”

    Notice something important.

Neither statement needs to make impossible guarantees.

The purpose is to create a vivid mental orientation toward the future you’re working to create.

    A Simple 5-Minute Manifestation Practice

You can create your own daily practice inspired by these principles.

Sit somewhere quiet and take several slow breaths.

    Choose one intention.

Visualize yourself experiencing that outcome for about one minute.

Then focus on the emotion associated with it.

How would greater financial freedom feel?

How would accomplishing your goal feel?

    How would peace feel?

Allow yourself to experience that emotion.

    Then speak a present-tense affirmation:

“I am aligned with opportunities that support my prosperity, purpose, and highest good.”

    Finally, ask:

“What is one thing I can do today to move toward this reality?”

    Write down the answer.

    Then do it.

That final step transforms manifestation from passive wishing into intentional living.

    Add a Simple Manifestation Altar

If you enjoy ritual, create a small manifestation space.

You might include a candle representing illumination and intention, a journal for scripting, a meaningful crystal, fresh flowers representing growth, and a written statement describing your goal.

The objects themselves don’t need to be viewed as guarantees of an outcome.

Their value can also be symbolic: every time you see your manifestation space, you’re reminded of what you’ve committed yourself to creating.

That repeated attention can be powerful.

    7 Present-Tense Manifestation Affirmations

“I am aligned with opportunities that support my highest good.”

“My thoughts, emotions, words, and actions support the life I am creating.”

“I recognize prosperous opportunities and confidently act upon them.”

“I am open to abundance arriving through expected and unexpected channels.”

“My energy is focused on growth, possibility, and purposeful action.”

“I trust my intuition while making wise and grounded decisions.”

“I am becoming an active participant in creating the life I desire.”

    Manifestation Isn’t About Controlling Everything

There’s another important lesson worth adding to any manifestation practice.

Manifestation should not become the belief that every event in life is caused by someone’s thoughts or spiritual energy.

Life includes circumstances beyond individual control.

Manifestation can instead be approached as a framework for becoming more deliberate about what you focus on, what you believe is possible, what you practice, and what actions you take.

That’s a much more empowering application.

You’re not trying to control the entire universe.

You’re changing how intentionally you participate in your own life.

From Energy to Ritual to Words

One reason Rev. Mignon Grayson belongs in our Metaphysical Masters series is the breadth of her manifestation framework.

Her books move beyond simply “think about what you want.”

They explore energy techniques, spiritual ritual, meditation, crystals, herbs, oils, baths, prayers, Psalms, affirmations, mantras and other practices.

That makes her work especially interesting for people who already incorporate spirituality into their personal-development journey.

But perhaps the most useful takeaway is also the simplest:

    Decide what you desire.

    Direct your attention toward it.

Bring your emotions and spiritual practice into alignment with it.

    Speak about it intentionally.

    And take meaningful action.

That’s a manifestation blueprint you can begin practicing today.
